Martha L. Rolli age 92, a resident of New Dawn at Dover and formerly of Tuscarawas, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at Union Hospital in Dover, on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014. Born on March 27, 1921, in Tuscarawas, Martha was the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Viola P. (Van Lehn) Schumacher. In 1939, she graduated from Tuscarawas Warwick High School. She then attended the Rio Grande College for 1 year and the Canton Actual Business College. Martha was employed at the Educational Resource Center in New Philadelphia for 21 years. She was a member and attended the Sharon Moravian Church for 92 years, where she served as the church secretary, was an elder, belonged to the Women’s Fellowship and she made tapes for the shut-ins and delivered them and was on the committee to construct the Christmas Putz. Martha also served on the Tuscarawas Warwick and Indian Valley School Boards and the Tuscarawas Town Council. She went to Bethel, Alaska two different times to work at the Moravian Mission and traveled many parts of the world. Martha was also a member of the Twin City Hospital Coffee Bar, the Tuscarawas Senior Citizens and the 500 Card Club.
On March 24, 1944, at the Sharon Moravian Church, Martha married Clarence F. Rolli. Clarence passed away on May 18, 1962. Martha is also preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Schumacher Morrison and a brother, Warren Schumacher. Martha is survived by her children, Joyce (Frank) Sainato of Akron, Jerry (Linda) Rolli of Stockport and Janice Nickens of Rockville, Md; a sister, Kathryn Shamel of Tuscarawas; five grandchildren, Mollie (Kacy) McGrath, Clark (Sara) Rolli, Kim (Billy) Magro, Matthew Nickens and Nicholas (Erin) Sainato; 12 great-grandchildren, Drake King, Cade King, Zyler Jadwin, Collin Rolli, Creed McGrath, Zachary Rolli, Claire Rolli, Rosie Sainato, Sienna Magro, Ethan Magro, Evan Perdue and Ean Perdue.
Funeral services for Martha will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 at the Sharon Moravian Church in Tuscarawas, with the Rev. Rebecca Sisley officiating. Burial will follow at the Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m., on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc., at Uhrichsville and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church. The Annual Goshen Picnic is set for September 8th, at 1:30 p.m. It will be held at the Goshen Community Church of the Nazarene on David Rd. All tableware will be provided. Those attending should bring a covered dish, soft drinks and any Goshen Memorabilia they would like to have for the display table.

The Goshen Community Yard Sales will be held on July 13th, from 9-? An ad will appear in the Times Reporter. Be prepared for early sales. The sale this year is set for the week prior to Tusky’s sales. This may give us a better crowd and those wanting to also participate the weekend of Tusky’s will already have their items ready. The Goshen Community Church of the Nazarene will be having their delicious homemade baked goods for sale and a lunch stand. Check it out!
